SPLASH into Summer AND DASH down to Sandridge Beach, Port Melbourne!TriFit Coaching and Events and TrySportz Consulting, in partnership with Sandridge Life Saving Club and Triathlon Victoria, are excited to announce the return of the Splash'n'Dash Aquathlon Series for 2008/2009We have a lot of new and exciting developments for the 2008/2009 season - A new Saturday race, new sponsors on board and a new venue at Sandridge Beach in Port Melbourne. Whilst we had two fantastic seasons at Middle Brighton Baths an increase in the participant numbers and the desire to provide the best experience for all competitors has lead to the relocation of the event. Sandridge will also enable many competitors easier access to the venue. Sandridge is situated on The Boulevard in Port Melbourne's' Garden City. Sandridge Beach is one of Melbourne's best kept secrets, a tucked away lovely secluded beach, perfect for calm ocean waters. Thankyou to all who participated in the recent Splash N Dash Aquathlon survey, your feedback is most valuable as it helps the event management team create an event just for you. Announcement of the winner for a season's entry into the Splash'n'Dash Aquathlon series for participating in the survey will be announced at the end of September when council has made final approvals. Proposed race dates and race formats (Subject to final council approval)10th December 2008 - 300m swim/2.5k run x 2 (Weds night)14th January 2009 - 5km run/600m swim (Weds night) 18th February 2009 - 600m swim/5km run (Weds night) 21st March 2009 - 2.5km run/1km swim/2.5km (Saturday, proposed Victorian Championships) Races are also coupled once again with the shorter Try Aquathlon races which, is exactly half the distance.
